Vendor Selection

Equally important as evaluating which content management system or other technology tool you select is evaluating the potential vendor partners your organization could work with.

The consulting support that Distilled Logic provides for requirements projects frequently continues with vendor evaluation. We assist clients in identifying potential vendors that should receive the Request for Information or Request for Proposal by evaluating our own database and by researching any vendors that your organization has identified. When vendors respond to the RFI or RFP, we assist in evaluating the proposals. Much of the true evaluation, though, occurs in meeting and talking with the vendor teams.

We recommend a number of meetings and discussions take place during the decision-making process. In some cases, these meetings will be opportunities for the vendors to demonstrate their technology tool(s). In other cases, Distilled Logic facilitates meetings to encourage discussion about the business goals and objectives identified in the requirements phase. These are education opportunities: the vendors better understand your organizational challenges and your organization learns from their experiences and successes with similar projects.

Our goal with this approach is to allow clients to decide that, not only the proposed technology is the right choice to run a website or a database, but that the vendor team is the right choice to become a business partner for the organization.
